Cor de Kwant is a passionate entrepreneur and strategic leader with over 20 years of
experience across the maritime, cement, energy, and consulting industries. His journey
began in the heart of the maritime industry at his family’s company, Weka Marine, where
he built a strong foundation in engineering and leadership. After several formative years
there, Cor set out on his own path—and by the age of 24, he became the youngest
CEO in the Cement, Maritime and Offshore Industry.

Since then, he has founded and developed multiple companies, including Lion Bulk
Handling, which was formed in 2016 by uniting, together with Marcel van Rangelrooij,
H.W.Carlsen, Kintec, Ruyter Offshore, and Bulk Academy under the Lion Marine Group.
Today, Lion specializes in bulk handling excellence, delivering top-tier technical
components, automation, and engineering solutions for marine, offshore, portside, and
terminal applications.

With over 15 years of experience in the cement industry, Cor brings technical insight
and a sharp eye for innovation. He has advised numerous European businesses on
strategy, operations, and culture as a business analyst, executive coach, and former
lecturer in Industrial Engineering at the University of Rotterdam. Cor’s people-first
approach is key to his success. Outside work, he enjoys traveling, nature, swimming,
and spending time with family and friends.
